A piece of rare memorabilia used by the Eau Claire Boys Drum and Bugle Corps was found by Mike Brown. A herald bugle, one of six that was used by the corps, was located in Menomonie.
Mike became aware of the bugle by former alumni member Pete Sixel. This information was given to the memorial committee and the decision was made to purchase the bugle. At the March 25th reunion committee meeting, Mike Brown donated the bugle to be displayed in the memorial case. On behalf of the memorial committee and all alumni we give special thanks to Mike for his generosity.
The time is flying by until The Eau Claire Corps and The Durand Girls Corps celebrate their 50th year reunions. If you havenít filled out your registration form yet, please send it in as soon as possible! This could be the last time a reunion will be held. We need to know how many are coming to properly plan for the food, beer, T-shirts, and DARC tickets. Again, if you just plan to show up on the day of the reunion, you might not be guaranteed a T-shirt or discounted DARC tickets for the drum corps competition. Clicking the reunion link on the web page can download reunion forms.
Lastly, the reunion will start at 2:00 p.m. The afternoon session will be held outside in the newly designed area of the VFW. We encourage all alumni members of the Eau Claire Corps and Durand Girls Corps to bring scrapbooks, pictures, or corps articles. There will be special tables set up to display memorabilia of both corps. The evening session will be held in the main hall of the VFW.
