May 17th marks the first year anniversary of Walter Brown Day in the city of Eau Claire. Also, commemorated was the memorial of former corps alumni, Walter Brown, and the Brown family. The display has been viewed by hundreds of people in the last year.
The 50th year reunion scheduled for June 20th and 21st will be here sooner than you think. If you havenít sent in your reunion registration forms yet, please do so. We need to get an accurate count of alumni attending the reunion. You can also e-mail your information and reserve your tickets for Drums Along the Red Cedar, reunion dinner, and T-shirt size.
The Durand Girl Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and Silver Sabres Drum and Bugle Corps will be combining their 50th year reunion with The Eau Claire Boys Drum and Bugle Corps reunion. This will be one reunion you wonít forget. Durand Girl Corps alumni can click the link on the home page for further information.
The reunion will start at 2:00 p.m. in the outdoor facilities at the VFW. At 5:30 the festivities will move indoors where alumni may browse the memorial dedicated to former alumni members and the Brown Family. At 6:00 dinner will be served with a reunion program starting at 7:00. Live music will be provided at 9:00 featuring Dave Ambers, former alumni member, with his band 40 Fingers.
Wayne Duesterbeck has requested that former drummers bring their sticks. Drum pads will be provided to play on. Wayne said this would be a perfect time to make fools out of ourselves. Sticks will be available for drummers who forgot were you last put them.
Again, please make your plans to attend the reunion. This could be the last get together for all alumni members. If you are coming and know of other alumni members, please inform them of the reunion
