Golden Girls Make Durand Silver Sabres History

In Durand Wisconsin on Saturday, June 12, 2010, the former alumni members of the Durand Girl Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, Durand Girls Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Silver Sabres Drum and Bugle Corps gathered at the town’s band shell for a special ceremonial event. Alumni members Nancy Bauer Polzer and Doshie Bauer Grey both spoke on behalf of all former corps members. As of June 12, 2010, all corps history and artifacts will be housed in three display cases; two at the American Legion Hall and the other at the Durand Courthouse Museum. Also, special recognition was given to alumni members who helped with the writing of the corps history, plus collecting and organizing of corps artifacts for the display cases. A booklet and DVD of the corps history, photos, music, and 50th reunion were also available. If anyone who would like to receive a copy, please contact Doshie Bauer- Grey at
